Research
His main research fields are:
1) Surfactant catabolism and surfactant protection;
2) Clinical development of ultrasound at NICU and PICU nursing points;
3) New ventilation strategies for children and newborns with respiratory failure (NAVA and NHFOV);
4) Epidemiology of neonatal and child ARDS; 5) Progress in clinical treatment of neonatal jaundice.
He has published more than 200 papers in full. Most of them are published in the first quarter of the "Pediatrics" or "Critical Care" list. He also wrote 23 monographs and book chapters; The editor of a monograph. He has written the introduction of three monographs and has often been invited to give more than 300 speeches at international conferences/conferences.
It is noteworthy that he has published articles in the Lancet, Lancet Respiratory Medicine, Lancet Children's Health, AJRCCM, European Journal of Respiratory, Pediatrics, American Medical Association Pediatrics Association, Intensive Care Medicine, Clinical Pharmacology, PlosOne and other magazines.
Daniele De Luca also won the Young Researcher Award of the Journal of Pediatrics (2007), the Italian National Award for Newborn Research (2010), the ESPR Young Researcher Award (2010) and the Bengt Robertson Surfactant Research Award in 2018, as well as several local/national awards in France or Italy.

Daniele De Luca also won the Young Researcher Award of the Journal of Pediatrics (2007), the Italian National Award for Newborn Research (2010), the ESPR Young Researcher Award (2010) and the Bengt Robertson Surfactant Research Award in 2018, as well as several local/national awards in France or Italy.
From 2011 to 2016, he has been the Vice President of the "Respiratory Department" of the European Society of Pediatrics and Neonatal Intensive Care (ESPNIC). In October 2016, he was elected Secretary of ESPNIC. Since 2013, he has also served as the scientific content manager of the European Society for Pediatric Research (ESPR) and the certified ESPR officer of the European Society for Pediatric Research. He has served as a judge of several major international journals in the fields of general medicine, critical care and pediatrics.
